  • Photographic Data:Photos taken during physical address verification visits.
  • Technical Data:IP address, browser type, device identifiers, usage logs.
  • Financial Data:Bank Verification Number (BVN) where legally required by a client.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

  • Perform physical address and identity verification services on behalf of our clients.
  • Fulfill our contractual obligations to clients and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Communicate with users about their accounts, requests, and support issues.
  • Detect and prevent fraud and security incidents.
  • Generate anonymized statistical reports and improve our services.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so under the NDPA 2023. The applicable bases include: (a) consent of the data subject; (b) necessity for the performance of a contract; (c) compliance with a legal obligation; (d) legitimate interests pursued by VERLIX or our clients, where such interests are not overridden by the rights of the data subject.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy, or as required by applicable law. Verification reports and associated evidence packages are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial services regulations. Upon expiry of the retention period, data is securely destroyed or anonymized.

Under the NDPA 2023, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access your personal data held by us.
  • Right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure ("Right to be Forgotten") subject to legal obligations.
  • Right to restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Right to data portability.
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time.

7. Data Security

We implement robust technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, or alteration.
